AWM Mentor Network
Volunteer Form
Here's the way the AWM Mentor Network works.
We match mentors with girls/women who are interested in
mathematics and/or are pursuing careers in mathematics. As a mentor, you may
not know all of the answers to questions asked of you by your advisees, but the
idea is to link them into a network: you may know of someone who knows the
answers or someplace to look for the answers, and you can direct them
there.
To get started, please answer the few simple questions below. If
you would like to be a mentor, we will match you up with girls/women in
mathematics who are looking for a mentor, according to the general area of
interest you indicate. If you would like to help out in some capacity other
than mentoring directly, you can also sign up to help with the
Mentor
Forum or to help in matching mentors and advisees. In assisting with the
mentor forum, you would advertise topics, recruit people for the discussion,
and moderate discussions. In helping to match mentors, you will help in
suggesting possible mentors and matches that will be helpful to the
mentored.
If you any comments, questions, or suggestions about this new
AWM mentor network, don't hesititate to send them to Prof. Rachel Kuske,
Coordinator (mentor@awm-math.org).
Since this is a new program, any input will be appreciated!
Thanks for volunteering!
